Supported Van Platforms
We specialize in three proven van platforms that offer the best combination of reliability, parts availability, and conversion compatibility. Our expertise runs deep on these specific models.
Ford Transit (2015+)
America's most versatile commercial van platform and our most-built vehicle. The Ford Transit offers the widest range of configurations, excellent parts availability nationwide, and proven reliability for van life conversions. It's the only platform compatible with the Quigley Q-Lift — our factory-approved 2-inch suspension lift that maintains your Ford powertrain warranty.
All model years from 2015 to current are supported. Engine options include the 3.7L V6, 3.5L EcoBoost V6, and 3.2L PowerStroke Diesel. Available in RWD with factory AWD option, plus Quigley Q-Lift compatibility. Multiple roof heights, wheelbases, and cargo/passenger variants give you maximum flexibility for your build.
Most Configurations
Multiple roof heights, wheelbases, and layouts. More options than any other van on the market.
Best Parts Availability
Largest dealer and parts network in North America. Get service anywhere, anytime.
Quigley Q-Lift Compatible
The only platform with factory-approved lift kit. Maintains Ford warranty when installed by authorized dealers like OZK.
Factory AWD Option
Available with all-wheel drive from the factory — no aftermarket modifications needed for all-weather capability.
Easiest to Work On
Straightforward electrical systems, accessible mounting points, and a well-documented platform for clean installations.
Strong Resale Value
Transit conversions maintain excellent resale value in the growing van life market.
OZK Recommendation: Transit 250, 148" WB, Medium Roof, AWD for the perfect balance of capability and livability.
Mercedes Sprinter (2019+ VS30)
The Sprinter offers exceptional build quality, the tallest interior height available, and excellent diesel fuel economy. It's the premium choice for customers who want European engineering standards and maximum livable space. The VS30 platform (2019+) resolved reliability issues present in earlier models and offers a much stronger foundation for conversion work.
Engine options include the 2.0L Turbo 4-cylinder and 3.0L V6 diesel. Available in RWD and AWD configurations with multiple wheelbase and height options. Note: we only work on 2019+ VS30 platform Sprinters. Earlier NCV3 models have known reliability issues and poor parts support that make them unsuitable for conversion work.
Premium Build Quality
European engineering standards with superior fit and finish throughout the vehicle.
Tallest Interior Height
6 ft 1 in to 6 ft 11 in interior height options — the tallest of any van platform. Stand up comfortably.
Excellent Diesel Economy
18-25 MPG with the diesel engine. Best fuel economy of the three platforms for long-distance travel.
Factory AWD Available
All-wheel drive option for all-weather and moderate off-road capability.
More Complex Systems
European electronics and systems require specialized knowledge for proper conversion work — which our team has.
Higher Maintenance Costs
Mercedes parts and service cost more than domestic equivalents. Factor this into long-term ownership planning.
Ram ProMaster (2022+)
The ProMaster is the value leader in van conversions. It offers the lowest entry cost, the widest rear door opening, and the lowest loading floor height — making it excellent for budget-conscious builds and cargo-focused conversions. The 2022+ generation resolved many reliability problems from earlier models and provides a solid foundation for conversion work.
Powered by the 3.6L Pentastar V6 with front-wheel drive. Multiple wheelbase and roof height options available. Note: we only work on 2022+ ProMasters with the updated platform. Earlier generations have unresolved reliability problems that make them unsuitable for conversion investment.
Lowest Entry Cost
Most affordable base vehicle of the three platforms. Maximize your build budget.
Widest Rear Opening
The widest rear door opening of any van — easier loading, more flexible interior layouts.
Lowest Floor Height
Lowest loading floor means more interior height without a taller roof. Easier entry and exit.
Simpler Systems
Straightforward mechanical systems compared to European vans. Easier and cheaper to maintain.
Growing Aftermarket
Expanding ecosystem of conversion-specific parts and accessories as the platform gains popularity.
FWD Only
Front-wheel drive only — no AWD or 4x4 option. Best for on-road use, urban delivery, and paved campground access.
Best for: Budget builds, cargo-focused conversions, urban use, and customers who don't need 4x4 capability.

Platform Requirements
We only work on specific model years and configurations that have proven reliability, comprehensive parts networks, well-documented mounting points for clean installations, strong aftermarket support, and solid resale value. Platforms we don't support include pre-2019 Sprinters (NCV3 — known reliability issues), pre-2022 ProMasters (unresolved problems), Nissan NV models, Chevrolet Express/GMC Savana, and older Ford E-Series vans.
This isn't about being exclusive — it's about protecting your investment. A professional conversion is a significant investment of time and money. Starting on a platform with known issues or poor parts support puts that entire investment at risk. We'd rather turn down a project than build on a foundation we don't trust.
