The Quigley Trail
The complete adventure van — engineered from the ground up. Every component hand-selected, professionally installed, and built to take you further.
What Is the Quigley Trail?
The Quigley Trail is not a lift kit. It's not a parts list. It's OZK Customs' flagship complete van conversion — a ground-up adventure vehicle built around the factory-approved Quigley Q-Lift suspension system on the Ford Transit platform. Every component in the build has been hand-selected through hundreds of hours of real-world installation experience, tested across dozens of completed builds, and chosen because it performs — not because it's the cheapest option on the shelf.
When a Quigley Trail van rolls out of OZK's shop, it's ready for anything. Lifted suspension with performance shocks. A fully insulated, paneled, and floored interior with a bed system and custom cabinetry. A complete off-grid electrical system with solar, lithium batteries, and intelligent power management. Climate control that works in every season. Exterior armor, storage, and connectivity systems that keep you safe, organized, and online — whether you're parked at a trailhead in Colorado or working remotely from a beach in Baja.
The difference between the Quigley Trail and piecing together a van build yourself is the same difference between a house and a pile of lumber. Every system in this package has been designed to work with every other system. The electrical layout accounts for the heater placement. The insulation spec accounts for the climate system. The floor plan accounts for the bed platform and cabinetry. Nothing is an afterthought, nothing is retrofitted, and nothing is compromised because one installer didn't know what the next one was planning. It's a single, integrated build from a team that has done this before — and does it every week.
Suspension & Foundation
Every Quigley Trail build starts where the rubber meets the road — literally. The Quigley Q-Lift suspension system is a factory-approved 2-inch lift engineered specifically for the Ford Transit. Unlike aftermarket lift kits that void warranties and compromise ride quality, the Q-Lift is designed in partnership with Ford and maintains your factory powertrain warranty when installed by an authorized dealer. OZK Customs is one of only seven authorized Quigley Q-Lift installers in the entire United States — a distinction that reflects both our technical capability and our commitment to doing things the right way.
The Q-Lift provides the ground clearance you need for fire roads, forest service trails, and rough campsites without sacrificing the on-road manners that make the Transit livable as a daily driver. It's a precision-engineered system that maintains factory steering geometry, preserves alignment specs, and keeps the van's center of gravity where Ford intended it — critical when you're building a vehicle that carries a full living space on its back.
Paired with the Q-Lift, we install Bilstein B6 performance shocks — monotube dampers designed specifically for lifted Transits. The Bilstein B6 uses a high-pressure monotube design that dissipates heat faster than twin-tube shocks, delivering consistent damping performance whether you're loaded down on a highway or crawling through washboard gravel. The result is a suspension that feels planted and controlled in every condition, with none of the body roll or wallowing that plagues vans running stock shocks on a lifted platform.

Interior Build
The interior of a Quigley Trail van is built in layers, and the order matters. We start with Havelock Wool insulation — a natural, breathable, non-toxic insulator that manages moisture instead of trapping it. Unlike spray foam or fiberglass batts, wool actively absorbs and releases humidity, preventing the condensation problems that rot van walls from the inside out. Paired with Lizard Skin sound deadening applied directly to the metal shell, the result is a cargo van that feels — and sounds — like a finished vehicle, not a tin can.
Over the insulation, we install Adventure Wagon or Lost HiWay wall panel systems and matching ceiling panels — modular, van-specific panels designed to interface with the Transit's factory mounting points. These aren't generic sheets of plywood screwed into place. They're engineered panel systems with integrated L-track, wiring channels, and attachment points for accessories. The floor gets the SmartFloor system: a lightweight, durable flooring solution designed for the weight, moisture, and abuse that van floors actually face. Every material in this layer is chosen for van-specific performance — low weight, high durability, and engineered fit.
The living space comes together with the MOAB or RB Sofa Sleeper bed system — a platform that converts from seating to a full sleeping surface without compromise in either mode. Cabinetry from RB Components or Van Wife rounds out the interior: purpose-built storage, countertops, and organizational systems designed for the dimensions and demands of Transit van life. Every cabinet is secured to structural mounting points, every drawer uses full-extension slides rated for off-road vibration, and every surface is finished to withstand years of daily use in a moving vehicle.

Power & Electrical
The electrical system is the nervous system of the entire build, and getting it wrong creates problems that cascade through every other system. The Quigley Trail runs on a power architecture designed around the RedArc Alpha battery management system — an intelligent unit that simultaneously manages charging from solar panels, the van's alternator, and shore power. The Alpha doesn't just charge batteries; it orchestrates the entire power flow, prioritizing sources based on availability and protecting your battery bank from overcharge, over-discharge, and thermal damage.
Energy storage comes from Epoch lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) batteries — the safest, most durable lithium chemistry available. Epoch batteries deliver consistent power output across their entire discharge range, tolerate thousands of charge cycles, and weigh a fraction of equivalent lead-acid banks. In a vehicle where every pound matters and reliability is non-negotiable, LiFePO4 is the only chemistry we install. The battery bank is sized during your consultation based on your actual usage — how many devices you run, whether you work remotely, and how many days of autonomy you need between charging sources.
Renogy solar panels mounted on the roof rack provide passive charging whenever the sun is out. Combined with alternator charging while you drive and the option to plug into shore power at campgrounds, the system ensures you always have power when you need it. The entire electrical system — from panel to battery to distribution — is designed, wired, and tested by our team as a single integrated circuit. No spliced-in aftermarket components, no mismatched wire gauges, no fuse panels that weren't specced for the load they carry.

Climate Control
A van you can't sleep in comfortably isn't an adventure vehicle — it's a cargo box with a mattress. The Quigley Trail solves climate from both ends. For heating, we install the Espar Airtronic diesel heater — a unit that taps directly into the Transit's diesel fuel tank, so you never need to carry a separate fuel source. The Espar is whisper-quiet, draws minimal electrical power, and can keep the interior at a comfortable temperature in sub-zero conditions. It's the same technology used in European long-haul trucks and marine vessels, adapted for the van space.
Ventilation comes from the MaxxAir fan — the industry standard for van builds, and for good reason. The MaxxAir provides powered intake and exhaust ventilation, creating airflow that prevents stuffiness, manages cooking odors, and draws cool air through the van during mild weather. Its built-in rain cover means you can run it in a downpour without water intrusion. For hot-climate builds, we offer AC options including the GREE EcoCool and Velit 2000R — compact, efficient air conditioning units designed for the power constraints and space limitations of a van electrical system.
The climate system is planned alongside the electrical system from day one. The Espar's fuel line routing, the MaxxAir's roof cutout placement, and the AC unit's power draw are all factored into the build plan before a single cut is made. This integrated approach means your heater doesn't compete with your battery bank, your fan doesn't interfere with your solar panels, and every component has the electrical headroom it needs to run without compromise.

Exterior Protection
An adventure van that can't handle a trail isn't an adventure van. The Quigley Trail's exterior package protects the vehicle, expands its carrying capacity, and gives you the access points you need to use the roof as functional space. The rear bumper — from Roambuilt or Aluminess — replaces the factory plastic unit with a steel or aluminum platform that can absorb trail impacts, mount recovery gear, and carry accessories like tire carriers or storage boxes. It's protection and utility in one component.
On top, a Roambuilt or FVC roof rack provides a platform for solar panels, cargo storage, and adventure gear — kayaks, bikes, recovery boards, whatever your trip demands. The Aluminess ladder gives you safe, permanent access to the roof without scrambling up the back of the van or relying on a stepladder. Owl Vans storage solutions add organized exterior storage for gear you need quick access to — recovery equipment, leveling blocks, hoses, and tools that don't belong inside the living space.
A Fiamma awning rounds out the exterior package, providing instant shade and rain protection at any campsite. The awning deploys in seconds and creates a covered outdoor living area that effectively doubles your usable space when parked. Every exterior component is mounted to structural points on the van — not pop-riveted to sheet metal — and rated for the loads and forces of actual overlanding use.

Connectivity & Extras
For many Quigley Trail owners, the van isn't just a weekend escape — it's a mobile office. The connectivity package is built for people who need to stay online, stay secure, and stay productive from anywhere. Starlink Mini provides satellite internet that works where cell towers don't — deep in national forests, remote BLM land, or international locations where your phone plan has no coverage. Paired with a WeBoost signal booster that amplifies cellular signal in marginal coverage areas, you have redundant connectivity that covers virtually any scenario.
Privacy and security round out the package. VanEssential stealth window covers provide blackout privacy that also functions as insulation — keeping the interior invisible from outside while helping regulate temperature. The Wolfbox G900 dashcam provides continuous front and rear recording with parking mode surveillance, giving you a security system that runs whether you're in the van or away from it. When you're living and working from a vehicle, security isn't optional — it's infrastructure.

Why Professional Installation Matters
Factory Authorization
OZK is one of seven authorized Quigley Q-Lift installers in the United States. This isn't a sticker on our wall — it's a technical certification that means your lift is installed to factory specifications, your Ford warranty is maintained, and your suspension was set up by a team that Quigley trusts with their product.
Integrated Systems
Electrical, plumbing, climate, and structure are planned together from day one. Your heater's fuel line doesn't conflict with your battery bank. Your solar panel placement accounts for your fan cutout. Your cabinetry is designed around your electrical distribution panel. One team, one plan, zero conflicts.
Warranty Protection
Every component in the Quigley Trail carries its manufacturer warranty — and professional installation ensures those warranties stay valid. Improper installation is the number one reason warranty claims get denied. Our installation documentation protects your investment.
Single-Point Accountability
When you piece together a build across multiple shops, nobody owns the result. With OZK, one team builds the entire vehicle, one team stands behind the entire vehicle, and one phone call gets you support for anything — from a solar panel question to a suspension concern.
