The Premium Panel System

What Is the Lost HiWay Pro Kit?

The Lost HiWay Pro Kit is a complete wall panel system designed and precision-cut for specific van models. This isn't a sheet of plywood you trim to fit in a parking lot. Every panel in the kit is CNC-cut to match the exact contours of your van's interior — the curves, the ribs, the wheel wells, the window openings, and the factory mounting points that most DIY builders spend weeks trying to figure out. The result is a wall finish that looks factory-installed because it's engineered with the same precision as a factory component.

The Pro Kit ships with all the mounting hardware you need — no sourcing bolts, no guessing at fastener sizes, no running to the hardware store mid-install. Brackets, clips, rivnuts, and fasteners are all included and matched to the panel layout. Lost HiWay has refined this system through thousands of kits shipped to builders across the country, and the Pro Kit represents their highest-tier offering — the version that professional shops like OZK install because the tolerances are tight, the materials are premium, and the final result reflects the kind of quality our customers expect.

Wall panels are the first thing you see when you open the side door of a finished van. They set the visual tone for the entire interior and they're the foundation that every other component — cabinetry, electrical outlets, L-track, lighting, switches — mounts to or sits against. Getting the walls right is not optional. It's the difference between an interior that looks professional and one that looks like a project someone got halfway through and gave up on. The Lost HiWay Pro Kit is how you get the walls right.

Why This System

Why Lost HiWay?

There are cheaper ways to panel a van. You can buy lauan plywood from a home improvement store, cut it with a jigsaw, and screw it to the walls. Plenty of people have done it. The problem is what happens after that first weekend of feeling accomplished. The panels don't sit flush because the curves weren't templated correctly. Gaps appear along the ribs where the plywood doesn't conform to the van's compound curves. Screws pop through because the backing material isn't thick enough at the mounting points. The whole interior develops rattles within a month of driving because nothing was engineered for the vibration environment of a moving vehicle.

Lost HiWay eliminates every one of those problems through precision engineering. Their panels are designed using 3D scans of actual van interiors — not rough measurements, not cardboard templates, but millimeter-accurate digital models of every surface, rib, and mounting point inside your specific van model and year. Panels are CNC-cut from those models, which means every edge, every cutout, and every curve matches the van body with the kind of fit you simply cannot achieve with hand tools and a tape measure. The material itself is a high-density composite that resists moisture, handles temperature swings, and won't delaminate or warp over time — unlike plywood, which does all three.

The Pro Kit is also a proven system. Lost HiWay has shipped thousands of kits and iterated on the design based on real feedback from professional installers and owner-builders. Mounting points have been refined. Panel overlap joints have been adjusted to eliminate rattles. Hardware has been upgraded based on real-world failure data. When OZK installs a Lost HiWay Pro Kit, we're not beta-testing a product — we're installing a system that has been validated across thousands of builds and refined based on the kind of data that only comes from volume.

Professional Installation

The Lost HiWay Pro Kit is engineered for precision — but precision engineering requires precision installation. A panel system is only as good as the hands that hang it. When OZK installs your Pro Kit, every panel is dry-fit first, checked for alignment against the van body, adjusted where needed, and then permanently mounted in sequence. The order matters. Panels overlap at specific joints, and installing them out of sequence creates gaps that can't be fixed without pulling everything back out. Our installers know the sequence because they've done it dozens of times — not because they're reading the instruction sheet for the first time.

Before a single panel goes up, the walls are prepped. That means Havelock Wool insulation packed into every cavity — between ribs, behind mounting points, and into the voids that most DIY builders don't even know exist. Insulation underneath the panels isn't just about temperature. It's about sound deadening, condensation prevention, and creating an air gap that stops the metal shell from transferring road noise directly into your living space. Lizard Skin ceramic insulation coating goes on before the wool — applied directly to the bare metal to break the thermal bridge and add another layer of sound reduction. The panels then seal everything in, creating a finished wall system that performs as a complete thermal and acoustic envelope.

The real advantage of professional installation shows up in what happens behind the panels. Electrical wiring, lighting circuits, switch runs, USB outlet feeds, and shore power connections all route behind the wall panels before they're sealed in. OZK plans the entire electrical layout before the first panel goes up — every wire run, every junction box, every outlet location is mapped to the van and confirmed against the build plan. Once the panels are installed, the wiring is invisible, protected, and accessible only through planned access points. No surface-mounted conduit, no exposed wire loom, no afterthought circuits zip-tied to the wall structure. Just clean walls with power exactly where you need it.

Panel Alignment & Sequencing

Every panel dry-fit, checked for alignment, and installed in the correct sequence. Overlap joints seated properly. No gaps, no rattles, no rework.

Insulation Underneath

Havelock Wool in every cavity and Lizard Skin on bare metal — installed before the panels go up. Complete thermal and acoustic envelope sealed behind a clean finish.

Electrical Routing

All wiring, lighting circuits, and outlet feeds run behind panels before they're sealed. Invisible, protected, and accessible through planned service points.

Structural Mounting

Panels secured to factory mounting points using the included hardware kit. Rivnuts set properly, fasteners torqued to spec, no compromise on structural integrity.

Kit Contents

What's in the Pro Kit

The Lost HiWay Pro Kit is a complete wall panel package — not a partial solution that requires you to source additional materials. The kit includes driver-side and passenger-side wall panels, rear door panels (where applicable to your van model), and all the trim pieces needed for a finished appearance around windows, doors, and panel transitions. Every piece is labeled, numbered, and documented in the installation guide so you — or your installer — knows exactly where each component goes.

The hardware kit includes rivnuts for threaded mounting points, stainless steel fasteners that won't corrode in a high-humidity environment, panel clips for secure attachment at intermediate points, and trim caps for a finished edge where panels meet windows or doors. Lost HiWay also includes their proprietary panel connectors for the overlap joints between adjacent panels — these connectors are what eliminate the rattle that plagues most panel installations. They create a friction-fit joint that's tight enough to prevent vibration noise but still allows panels to be removed for service access when needed.

Vehicle Compatibility

Supported Van Models

Lost HiWay produces Pro Kit panel systems for the three van platforms OZK Customs builds on: the Ford Transit, Mercedes Sprinter, and Ram ProMaster. Each kit is model-specific and wheelbase-specific — a panel set cut for a Transit 148" wheelbase high roof is not the same as one cut for a 130" medium roof. During your consultation, OZK confirms your exact van configuration and orders the correct kit for your specific vehicle.

This model-specific approach is what separates the Pro Kit from universal panel solutions. Universal panels require trimming, shimming, and field-fitting that introduces gaps and inconsistencies. The Lost HiWay kit drops into your van because it was designed for your van — not for a category of vehicles that roughly share a shape. If your van has factory-installed windows, crew cab partitions, or other non-standard configurations, that's accounted for in the kit design.

Ford Transit (2015+)

High roof, medium roof. Multiple wheelbase options. The platform most of our Quigley Trail and interior builds are based on.

Mercedes Sprinter (2019+)

VS30 platform. High roof and standard roof configurations. Panel kits account for Sprinter-specific rib spacing and mounting points.

Ram ProMaster (2022+)

High roof configurations. Panel kits designed around the ProMaster's wider body and unique interior geometry.

Built Right, The First Time

Why Professional Installation Matters

Precision Alignment

Every panel is dry-fit, checked against the van body, and adjusted before permanent mounting. Our installers know exactly how each panel interfaces with its neighbors — the overlaps, the reveals, the transition points that create a seamless finished surface. Misalignment at panel one compounds through every panel that follows.

Integrated Insulation

Wall panels installed over bare metal are just decoration. OZK installs Havelock Wool insulation and Lizard Skin sound deadening before the first panel goes up — creating a complete thermal and acoustic envelope that the panels then seal in. This is the step most DIY installations skip, and it's the step that makes the biggest difference in livability.

Electrical Pre-Wire

Lighting circuits, USB outlets, 12V feeds, switch runs, and shore power connections all route behind the panels before they're installed. Once the walls go up, every wire is invisible, protected from damage, and accessible through planned service points. No surface-mounted conduit. No exposed wire loom.

Single-Point Accountability

When OZK installs your panels, we own the result — the insulation underneath, the wiring behind, the mounting integrity, and the finished appearance. If something rattles, shifts, or needs service, one phone call handles it. No finger-pointing between a panel supplier, an insulation installer, and an electrician.

Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. If you've already purchased a Lost HiWay Pro Kit, OZK can install it for you. We'll verify the kit matches your van's configuration before beginning work. If you haven't ordered yet, we recommend letting OZK handle the order — we'll confirm the correct kit spec for your exact vehicle and coordinate delivery timing with your build schedule so nothing sits in a warehouse waiting.

Both are premium, van-specific panel systems and both deliver a professional result. Lost HiWay and Adventure Wagon differ in material composition, panel overlap design, mounting approach, and available finishes. The right choice depends on your van model, your aesthetic preference, and what other systems are being installed alongside the panels. During your consultation, we'll walk you through the differences and recommend the system that best fits your build.

You don't technically need it — but we strongly recommend it, and here's why. Panels installed over bare metal create a sealed air space that becomes a condensation trap. Moisture forms on the cold metal, has nowhere to go, and eventually causes corrosion and mold behind your panels where you can't see it. Insulation solves this problem and also delivers massive improvements in thermal comfort and road noise. It's a fraction of the total project cost and the single biggest quality-of-life upgrade you can add to a panel installation.

It can, but it's significantly more work and the result is never as clean. Running wires behind sealed panels means removing panels, routing wire, and reinstalling — which risks panel damage and adds labor cost. OZK always recommends pre-wiring behind panels during the initial installation. Even if you're not ready for your full electrical build yet, we can run conduit or pull wire to future outlet and switch locations so the infrastructure is in place when you're ready.

Lost HiWay produces Pro Kits for Ford Transit (2015+), Mercedes Sprinter (2019+, VS30 platform), and Ram ProMaster (2022+) in various wheelbase and roof height combinations. Kits are available for standard configurations — if your van has non-standard features like factory crew cab partitions or unusual window configurations, we'll confirm kit compatibility during your consultation before ordering.

A standalone Lost HiWay Pro Kit installation — including insulation prep, electrical pre-wire, and panel mounting — typically takes several days in OZK's shop. The timeline depends on how much electrical work is routed behind the panels and whether we're also installing ceiling panels, flooring, or other interior components as part of a larger build. We'll give you a specific timeline during your consultation based on your complete build scope.
